1st Trimester

Starting to Show - 10 wks?

Hi all!  Just curious about your input...

I have definitley been bloated throughout my first tri - but i dont think i can blame it soley on my that anymore.  I think i am starting to show...

I've only gained 4lbs so far, but my belly shows a different story.  And I started off at a pretty fit gal.

 Is this happening to you?

  • You might be thickening up a little, but your uterus shouldn't reach the top of your pelvic bone until 12 or later.  We are all different though so there's always a chance.

  • I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and I am already showing. I have only gained 3 pounds. I asked my doctor (because I was worried) and he said it was because I was so small. (5'2" and weighed 105 before pregnancy)

  • I think it's possible. I have been bloated most of my pregnancy so far, mostly because I'm on a progesterone supplement. However, I can definitely notice a round lump in my lower abdomen, and my pants pretty much don't do up anymore. I don't exactly look like I have a baby bump when dresses, but you can notice it when i'm just out of the shower. I'm expecting it to totally turn into a baby bump in the next couple of weeks, but this isn't all bloat, it is a little bit baby, too...it also depends on your height, fitness level and frame...smaller girls tend to show earlier...

  • With my first pregnancy I was showing 12-16 weeks. I am 5'6" but am all legs. If you have very little torso you will show sooner.

With my 2nd I was showing at 7 weeks but I also had a cyst that was leaking fluid and that was all it was. A bump of fluid, haha.

I am hoping to make it to at least 12 weeks this time around but I doubt it.

  • I have a new picture on my blog taken this morning. I'm pretty much 10 weeks. I'm also very short (5'3) so yes, I think it's possible.
  • I will be 11 weeks on Thursday and I am bloated, but my stomach is definitely thicker and harder.  I don;t think I will get a bump until at least 14-16 weeks.  I will just look fate and I was very fit before!
  • YES! You and I are pretty much exact with our pregnancy progress and weight gain. I've gained 4 lbs and I feel like I'm showing. The "bloat" never goes away and is starting to feel firm. Yay for us!
  • wow i am so glad i just read this!! i have never been on this site before but i thought i was crazy im 5'2" and i definitely feel like im starting to show, maybe not a real bump yet but i can feel/see a difference... im so happy the peanut is starting to show!!

  • You can feel for your uterus above your pelvic bone and then you'll know if its baby or not...it feels like a firm ridge right above the pelvis. I personally didn't feel mine until 12/13 weeks, but I am tall (5'10). Also, I swore I was showing early on too, but later you'll realize that it wasn't what you thought it was....I'm still waiting to pop!

What happened to me was, as my uterus was growing, it just pushed up my organs and they pushed out in front and gave me a weird shaped belly and I lost my waist...

  • Yes possible! I am 10 wks and feeling thesame way. not just bloat anymore!
  • I know its possible bc I'm only 4'10,workout religously and have only gained 3pds. I know this is the beginning stages of a bump. I mean where else do my organs have to go?
