anyone take B6 for TTC?

My dr put me on B6 in the past and recently told me to start taking it again in hopes it will help with TTC.  My problem is that I am having the WORST time ever sleeping lately and I know that B6 helps with energy.  Everything I have read online says to not take more than 200mg a day, and my dr perscribed me to take 200mg twice a day.  I am thinking this is the reason for my sleep issues lately.  I can't remember what the dosage I took last time around was, but do you think my dr could be wrong?  I am going to put in a call to him this afternoon (after I get a nap, LOL) or maybe tomorrow morning.  Anyone have experience with B6?

Re: anyone take B6 for TTC?

  • I take it for TTC and I also took it during pregnancy to help with nausea.  I never noticed it keeping me up.  When I am not on prenatal vitamins, I take a mega B complex that I have to take in the mornings because it does affect my sleep.  It might just be that your body does not like B6 close to bedtime.  Maybe you can take the second dose in the late afternoon to try to avoid the sleep problem?

  • I take 200mg of B6 (Extended release version from CVS) to help with my cm, but I take it in the morning along with my pnv and then my other pills (my met and fish oil) at night so the pills don't interact. It also helps if you stay hydrated. I drink water like crazy, at least 1 liter a day.

That is Dr. Mattingly for you.
