We are going with Madelyn, love that name! DH rejected Abigail which was what I was rooting for.

I did and we are!!!! Also two weeks from tomorrow!
I'm so thankful someone around here isn't having a 17 week u/s!! I'm so jealous of all these ladies w/ the early gender u/s. My OB won't even schedule b/f 20 weeks. Oh well, it'll be here b/f I know it.

My OB won't schedule it until 22 weeks! We cheated and are going at 21 weeks, 5 days... last time I went at 21 weeks and they were annoyed I scheduled it so "early". All these people on my facebook are due a couple weeks after me and already know...
AND I like Madelyn or Madeline. Either one, I'd probably pronounce them both the same.
I agree that Madelynn is trying too hard. Madeline rhymes with "wine", but Madeleine is the more traditional spelling that has the "lynn" sound at the end.

I like this spelling better too. They really are pronounced differently. When I see Madeline, I think line as in a straight line. the lyn makes it prettier I think
Re: madeline or madelynn???
Madeline a classic French name
Madelynn trying too hard
Agreed!
I like Madelyn - not with the double "n"
I like Madelyn, not Madelynn. Otherwise I would go w/ Madeline.
BTW, did you ever decide to find out the sex? If so, when will you find out? We find out 2 weeks from tomorrow and I'm soooo excited!!!

Depends on how you want it pronounced:
Madeline - mad-uh-line (long i)
Madelyn or Madelynn- Mad-uh-lynn (short i)
Nothings worse than trying to learn to read and having your own name not make sense in the rules your teacher is trying to teach.

i like the madeline spelling better...and i would still pronounce it with the LYNN ending...
FWIW...i really like the spelling of madeleine...it is in the running for number 2.
I agree. Cute name though!
