I just ordered one from Etsy and it's not what I expected at all
Actually I ordered 2... that makes it even worse! Her site said they they were adjustable from "choker to mid-length". At the very shortest, I can still take the necklace on and off without stretching or anything. It hangs a full hand below my clavicle
I wanted it to sit above the neckline of my v-neck shirts...
the cord isn't quite what I expected either, but that's probably my fault because I didn't ask to see pictures. The pictures only show the pendant part, not so much the cord. Bummer.
See, this is why I agonize before buying anything!!!

I PMed the seller and asked if there was a safe way for me to re-knot it. One of them has beads on it, I want to make sure the knot is sturdy enough.
I found the actual measurements on her site, it says it should be 14" at it's smallest... I don't have a ruler, but when I fold the necklace in half (like it would be when you are wearing it, if that makes sense) it goes from my wrist to my elbow. That has to be more than 14" total length then, right?
I like those! And the cord looks soft... the cord on these feels plastic-y, but I don't think it is because she says she uses organic ingredients. I just didn't expect it to be stiff! lol
Oh well, one of them is a wooden ring on the cord.. if nothing else I can stick it in my diaper bag and Emmy can chew on it.
The cord is very soft on these... also (hopefully I'm not too late) I was given a coupon code for my blog... if you go to order use S-BC for 20% off!
I'm pretty sure I know what nursing necklaces you're referring to. She uses a waxed cotton cord unless you specifically request hemp. So it is a bit stiffer. A nursing necklace, and those teething bling necklaces, are meant to be long enough that your LO can grab at them and teethe on them while you're nursing them and/or wearing them. So the length is sort of necessary IMO (or maybe that's just for my body LOL). I find it odd though that she offers a choker length and that's not really what you got
I'm sorry but I still think you O&A HB will be awesome!
Also - fwiw, we love our smart mom teething bling. A goes crazy when I put it on. She loves to chew on it while I'm wearing her in a front carry and it keeps her from nomming on my hair in a back carry.
It's supposed to be adjustable... I was thinking I could wear it longer when nursing/BWing, and then shorten it up the rest of the time.
I think maybe the cotton will soften up?
I am ITCHING to get my O&A HB! I can't wait. Maybe when I get it I'll actually clean my house once I figure out a back carry! lol
Yay for adjustability LOL for freakishly small head/necks
