What do you think of this idea?

I thought, instead of having a guest sign in sheet at my Baby Shower, I would have everyone write a little note to the baby in a cute little journal I got, and also have them write some advice for new moms, then sign their entries. What do you think? Cute or not?

  • Very cute!! Or you could have them sign squares of fabric and make them into a quilt later on.

  • I like the journal Idea... maybe you can even have room for photos of the baby shower?

I didn't even have a typical guest sign in book at my wedding... I didn't think I would sit there and read names so... I made a scrap book that had places for signatures or little messages as well as spaces for photos! I look at it often!   So I think I will do that again... Small scrap book with US pics and room for messages and more photos... probably of the shower!

  • I think that is a great idea!!!
  • Very cute! That will be so much fun to look back at. :)

  • Cute.

At my baby shower with DD 1 they had small slips of paper for a wish for the baby. Then my hostess tied the slips to bday candles. Every year we pull out a candle and add it to the bday cake for DD and read the wish to her. It is pretty cool.

  • Thats really cute! We did something like that at my friend's shower a few years ago. And last year for my cousin I made a book, kind of scrapbook like, where everyone wrote a note for the baby. Its always nice to have something you can keep, and its something the baby can read when they get older!

  • I hate that stuff.  I never know what to say and always feel stupid writing anything.  It would make me skip it.  But then again, everyone else seems to love it.

  • I hosted my SIL's shower last month (it was a small gathering of people 15 total).  I went to the dollar section at target and got a bunch of great baby books for a buck each... then at the shower I had each guest write a little wish for the baby inside each book.

I did this for a friend's bridal shower. She loved it. I'd like to do the same thing for my showers (but I'm  the only scrapbooker, so I'm thinking I'll just have to tell my hosts I want this and will bring it myself). That's the only thing I really have to have "my way".

  •  I like that idea.. I have also heard of everyone decorating their own sheet for the baby scrapbook. Cute ideas!
