My book at home says that month five includes weeks 18-23 (I think)....does 6 months begin at 24 completed weeks? I could've sworn someone on here made a comment like "when I'm 6 months" and they were at 25 weeks so it confused me....
Also, I just watched the baby story and holy forceps. That looked a little violent how hard that doc was pulling...my goodness.
Re: When are you 5/6 months & holy forceps
That's what I go by too.

This is what I use because most people go by 9 months, even though it's a little off. I use weeks when dealing with people who have kids or are familiar with weeks. For my single guy friends that have no clue, I use months.
Take your EDD and count backward. If you use 24 weeks = 6 months then you'll have a 10 month pregnancy. I'm 26 weeks today and not quite at 6 months yet. This link is great for converting weeks into months:
https://www.baby2see.com/pregnancylength.html
But according to this chart you're finishing your 6 months at 26 weeks.
And according it it's calculator i'm at 5.9 months. So close but not there. My EDD is May 10th which is 3 months and 9 days from today - so again, close, but not right at 6 months.
this is a good site too

See that still confuses me. I mean... I totally trust what you're saying... but if you use that calculator it tells you one thing... and if you just scroll down to the weeks to month thingy in the middle of the page it tells you something completely different.
These calculations are making my head hurt. lol
I say weeks, even my DH doesn't like that and tries to convert to months with 4 weeks = 1 month. I hate this for the obvious 10-month pregnancy thing. I think I'll just go with weeks and let people figure it out for themselves.
Oh, I get where you're getting confused. the chart says Month 6 for weeks 23.5-27. What that means is during those weeks you're in your 6th month, but you have not yet completed 6 months. Think of it like a birthday. You may turn 28 (the number of years completed), but you've been in your 28th year since your last birthday (the year in progress).
lol... see that still doesn't help me... (not your fault). I don't look at it as being in my 28th year until my actual birthday. I count up and say I'm 27 and a half for 27 and 2 days. Just like in the pregnancy thing... when I was 5 weeks pregnant I said I was just over 1 month pregnant not, "I'm in my 2nd month of pregnancy". I guess that's why I get confused.
Every doctor and midwife I've had for both pgs has done the 4 week month as well so I just follow that..even if its not 'right' it sure is easier, and easier for everyone to understand!
