Oh. My. Gosh!!! So, yesterday we had to make a trip to the emergency room, because I went to the bathroom and had bright red blood when I peed. We were actually 2 hours away from home on a shopping trip when this happened, so it was just a nightmare. I was bawling, my husband was crying. I just knew it was over.
We spent 3 hours in the ER. They did a pelvic exam, urine test, blood test and an ultrasound. The tests were over in about 2 hours, but then we had to wait an hour to get the results back from the ultrasound. Everything looked great with the other 3 tests, but we were a nervous wreck. The chick who did the ultrasound said that she couldn't tell us anything, so, of course, we were expecting the absolute worst.
Anyway, the doctor comes back and tells us that we're having twins!! We are in such a state of shock!! It's so amazing
. All of the ER nurses stood around our room to hear the Dr tell us the news - they were all thrilled to death! Working in the ER, they said that they hardly ever get any good news, so that was pretty special for them. One of the twins is looking good - measuring at 7 weeks and has a heartrate of 132. The other is struggling. That Dr was very concerned about it. It's measuring around 6 weeks and its heartrate is 112 (Dr said it needs to be at least 120). I think it will be alright, but he told me to call my Dr today, and said that he would also call her. So, now I am just waiting to hear back from my Dr to see if they can get me in this week. At this point, my pregnancy is considered high risk, but I'm praying that baby #2 gets big and strong real quick!
We must be some of the only people who have ever walked into an ER crying, and walked out of it smiling and laughing. We are so blessed!! Thanks for listening ![]()

Congratulations! Praying that baby #2 grows quickly!
For what it is worth, one of my friends had twins and they always measured about a week apart. Now, they are healthy one year olds!
Congrats & good luck!!
We'll be keeping both babies, but especially Baby #2 in our thoughts & prayers that everything turns out good for you.
