Working Moms

I don't want to work anymore

I really hope I can switch to part time next year. These days at work just drag and all I can think about is being home with my little girl.

Re: I don't want to work anymore

  • you mean to tell me I'm going to still be feeling like that 3 months from now? Sad

I hope things work out for both of us!

  • I feel like it's getting worse as she's getting older and more fun to play with. It was easier to leave her when she slept all day. I hope things work out for you too. DH and I started playing lotto last week so maybe we'll get luckyWink
  • I feel ya.

someecards.com - I support Newt Gingrich's idea of colonizing the moon if it'll help me get away from Newt Gingrich.

My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09

My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11

  • I'm on the same boat. I only spend a few hours a day with the kids and the rest of the day is spent at work or being stuck in traffic. I'm in traffic a total of about 3 hours a day (if there are no accidents). I also work full time so I really only get a few hours with them before they have to go to bed. It's very frustraiting and annoying and it really makes me hate working However, I noticed that if I keep myself busy at work the day goes by fairly quickly and there is less time to think about how much I miss the kids.

good luck on the lotto - that's about all I can think to get me out of here, too. I can totally see how it's going to be harder later. I hate missing out on all of the fun (and even the not-so-fun!).

  • Me either. I'm to tired.
  • I'm currently in the "work from home" duration of my maternity leave, going back to full time in 4 weeks.

I'm thinking about proposing to work p/t. Considering the economy, and that I'll be saving them money, I'm hoping they'll bite.

If not, honestly, I'm not sure I can stomach going back to work.

  • I'm so there with you. In fact, I meet with my boss (I'm a teacher) in a couple of weeks to talk about next year. I'm hoping not to have to coach because that makes for long evenings and with DH dealing with client's unpredictable needs, it just wouldn't work. Not to mention, I'd cry if I don't get to see her all day. Ugh, I hope we both strike it rich.
