Guess im going to dr. just to be "safe"

... I posted this a.m. about having snotty discharge. Well, I guess I am going to doctor after work, just to be "safe", since I also had alot of aches all weekend.

I wonder what they'll do to just check out my discharge? Just make sure mucus plug is nice and intact and be done with it?

    My guess is they'll do a swab to make sure you don't have some kind of infection causing the discharge. If you'd lost your plug or part of it, it wouldn't have looked just snotty. It would have been pinkish/tinged with blood and totally funky. Really scientific, right? If you want to know what a mucus plug looks like and be really horrified, google itIck!

    Good idea!  I'm sure it's nothing, but the doctor should be able to tell you more.  Good luck.

    That sort of discharge is normal for this stage in pregnancy, according to all the books I have read, even Jenny McCarthy had a whole chapter devoted to it in her book.  She called it her "snail trail".  Ew.  Gross, but perfectly normal.  Not something I would run to the doctor for.

    Have you and s/o had sex lately?

    I know I don't even think about it the next day, but I always get the "snot" and freak out for a couple seconds, then realize it was leftovers.

     Gross, but something to consider.

    Thanks that is reassuring. My doctor is wondering if I have a UTI, she says they can go undetected in pregnancy, minus having discharge and causing mild contractions... So, I am going in for a urine sample atleast. I wouldnt so much care about the discharge, I guess its because over this weekend I had alot of baad aches.

    Well, the creamy snot I could see being mistaken for it, but this mornings snot was yellow-y and thick, def. not leftovers LOL (ewww) But I havent had sex since friday...

    I have this off and on whenever I am pregnant.  With my first I went in one time when I had it and it turns out I had some sort of infection..yeast, bacterial, I can't remember.  So it was good that I went.  Good luck.
