My old boyfriend is going to pay

for our playroom.

He gave me a gold charm necklace that I thought I lost years ago.  My old bedroom furniture from when I was single is in our basement and DD was poking around in the dresser and found the necklace.  I just had it appraised for sale and the trade in value is nearly $1600.  (We dated for 5 years and he added a lot of charms to it through the years).

I've been trying to decide what to spend the money on and I think this is what I would really like to do with it.  (I have no desire to have the necklace around.)  My second choice would be putting the money toward a zero turn riding mower for DH.  Right now, it takes 6 hours to mow our lawn--a zero turn would cut that in half.  So that would be useful, too.  As long as DH spent those extra 3 hours a week as "family time," I could see spending the money on that, too.

Which would you use the money for?

  • It's your necklace, get whatever YOU will get the most pleasure out of!

  • I'd probably go for the playroom and try to use tax refund money for the mower.

  • I'd go with the playroom. That's an awesome idea.  Where do you go to get jewelry appraised?

We have a jewelry store but no pawn shop in our town (only places I can think of.)

I have earrings from a boyfriend I've never worn.  We broke up right before xmas and decided to still give each other our gifts since they were all wrapped.  So awkward. 3 yrs and then we never really spoke again.  I have no idea what to do with the earrings.  They are so not my style (again, after knowing me for 3 yrs!)
