2nd Trimester

Lucky B!tch

I went to a wedding last night where I saw a girl I know pretty well.  She just had a baby a few weeks or a month ago.  I commented on how great she looked when she said that none of her pants fit yet.  I told her that was completely normal, and she just had her baby.  She looked at me funny and said all her pants were too big and she was 10lb less than before she got pregnant.  Ugh...I was not that lucky with #1.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed this time!!

Re: Lucky B!tch

  • I was like that last year after I had DS. I never said anything to anyone about it, but last week, I was telling a co-worker how much I hate body changes-and she said she hoped this time after I have dc that I dont look anorexic (sp). I was speechless, I looked back at pictures, and I looked so sick and awful. It totally wasnt that healthy-but nothing I could do would pack on the pounds, I got about 3 hours of sleep a night for 11 months with DS, and was in survival mode-and it shows in all the pictures.

I'm just jealous because I had a hell of a time losing the last 10 lbs with DD.  Another reason to not gain 50+ lbs with a pregnancy. Embarrassed  I really hope for you that you get a better sleeper this time around!

  • I was like that after DD.  I had Graves disease though, not the best way to lose weight!  I ended up at about 90 lbs and just looked terrible.  I think I'd rather keep a few pounds this time than have my thyroid kick into overdrive again.
  • I am hoping for my goal weight soon after baby....  I started #1 at 184 and gained 48 lbs (232 at delivery).  I lost 70 lbs by the time DD was 4 months (160).

I was 180 at my 1st appt w/ DD2.  (m/c put weight on me.)  I lost all that weight by 3 weeks pp.  I carried the extra for a while but lost 30 lbs on ww previous to this PG......

So, I started this PG at 170 and am hoping for the best!  (I am also 5'9", so 160-165 is the high end of normal for my height.)
