White Nursery for a Boy?

So, I asked this on the gear board but didn't get a huge response so I figured I'd ask here as well.

Is white nursery furniture not appropriate for a boy? I'm team green and registered for yellow/green/blue bedding but LOVE the look of white furniture. I plan to use the same set as baby grows so I wanted to make sure it works for both genders.

Would love some input! :)

    I don't see any reason why white is more appropriate for one gender or the other.  I'm sure it will look great! We're having a little boy and I defiantely considered white, but the crib we decided on looked better with a stain.

    I like the look of white furniture.  I dont see why it wouldnt be appropriate for a boy...I think it works for anything.

    I bought white furniture in the beginning, before we knew whether it was a boy or girl and no matter what the sex is this time, I will not be buying new furniture.  I think the paint color for the room says it all. All that matters is that you like it!

    Thanks....I also thought it was be perfectly fine. After all, if it's a boy I can also buy boy specific bedding/decor down the line, right? I keep hearing from my Mom white is for girls so I started to get paranoid.

    White is fine for either!  I will probably go with black for a girl room just because of the bedding I like.

    We purchased antique white furniture, and we will hopefully be finding out the sex of the baby on Friday.  So, I think white furniture is great for a boy!

    I'm team green and have ivory furniture adn think it will work great for either gender.  Bedding will be light green.

    It's fine- we recently got a Pottery Barn Kids magazine (no idea why), and they showed a bunch of nursery looks.  Several of the "boy" rooms used white furniture and it looked good.
