Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

my big mouth is gonna get me in trouble one day

Scene: in checkout line at local Walmart, alone.

Couple behind me w/ 3 or 4 kids (ranging from probably 8 months to 8 years old) are arguing, manage to say Fvck about 30 times in the five minutes I'm standing there. The kids look sad and miserable.

I catch eyes with the mom who is holding the baby and I say "You always curse in front of your kids?"  She gave me a look like ....biitch mind your business... THEN I said, gesturing to the baby: "Wonder what her first word is gonna be?"  She said "Fvck you"  to me.(surprise, surprise)  I just said "ok" and turned around.

I probably shouldn't have said anything; its not like theyre gonna change their ways. I just felt so heartbroken for their kids being exposed to that. I am just shocked ppl speak like that in front of their kids. I mean, sure, maybe you accidentally let a curse word slip....but an entire expletive filled conversation?

  • You were at walmart, does that surprise you at all? I am scared to send my DS to daycare in fear he will pick up. Bad words from the other kids. My friends little boy came home from daycare one day and said "fvck you b!tch" to her.

  • I give it to ya; you've got a set of 'em.  I would've thought it, but been too scared to get jumped in the parking lot to say anything!
  • Echo-  I'm a fast runner!! lol

I know...there are times when I should shut my freaking mouth. I just wish people cared more about how they are perceived and how their kids are raised.
