2nd time moms- breast milk storage bags

I am definitely planning on breastfeeding and pumping.  What are your favorite freezer storage bags for milk?  I've heard some don't hold up well.  Thanks!

Re: 2nd time moms- breast milk storage bags

  • I never really had a problem with any.  I think I used Lano - something or Gerber.  I didn't really pump w/ DD2, so it has been FOREVER!

  • I really liked the Lansinoh bags.  They lay flat in the freezer, so they're easier to store (I always froze flat then stood them up).

I didn't like the Medela bags - they don't lay as flat and they're really overpriced.

  • The Lansinoh and Gerber were my favs. The Gerber were a little cheaper and did the job.

  • I liked the lanisoh the best and it doesn't hurt to have a few storage bottles on hand either if you are in a hurry or plan on using the milk within a couple of days.
  • My favorite bags were Lansinoh, but I used a lot of Medela too b/c a store near me had them mispriced BIG time for a long time.  They were really cheap, so it didn't make sense to pay more for anything else.

  • We used drop-ins and I was able to pump directly into them with a conversition set.

  • Lansinoh, Gerber and the Playtex drop-ins (with the adapter) were what I liked the most.
  • Is it crazy that I used ziplocs??
  • I loved the kind that stood up on thier own.........I want to say Lansinoh's brand? And they also double zipped/closed.

I also loved the Playtex adapter kit where you could use the drop in liners themselves, pump right into them, and put them right in the fridge for the next day's bottles.

  • I used Lansinoh.  (at Target)
  • Lansinoh. They freeze flat for easy storage.

  • I used Lansinoh too. Hint - when you defrost in the fridge, place in a zip lock or a bow. I had a few bust on me. I tried 3 different brands and they all did. And you do cry over spilled breastmilk! :-)

  • I liked the Lansinoh bags the best!  I liked that they double zipped and that they froze flat so I could fit a lot more in the freezer :-)

  • Thanks for the help ladies!  It's very much appreciated.

  • I have to go with everyone else and say the Lansinoh ones, I tried the medela ones but the have a pleat in the bottom so they can also stand staright and they didn't do well when organizing for mass freezing.

  • Lansinoh are the best, but I used Gerber w/o much problems.  Gerber are more economic.
  • the lansinoh bags were the best. i agree with pp that they were great becase they were able to lay flat in the freezer.

  • I really liked the Lansinoh bags.
  • I used Lansinoh.  They were fine, but a little tricky to pour out...DH spilled a couple.  I actually preferred to use the Medela 2 oz tubes whenever possible.  (I didn't have a huge freezer stash either though).
  • I used the Gerber bags with both of my children but this time I think I am going to try and freeze my milk in ice cube trays and then freeze in ziplock bags. I have heard that its better because some of the good fat that is in breast milk gets stuck on sides of the bags and when you freeze it into cubes you don't have to deal with that.
