So DH just HAD to buy one because several pregnant friends (I now have NINE pregnant friends) bought them and took them. DH is convinced it is a boy, and low and behold our intelligender said boy.
How many of you have done the intelligender and then the big u/s proved it? Was the intelligender right? Was it wrong? I'm skeptical of the intelligender.....but DH is thrilled.
Re: Intelligender
Is that the thing where you pee in the cup or something and it tells you boy or girl??
That's a load of crock. If it was that easy to tell gender through your pee why would they have to do an u/s to determine the gender???
They say it's about 80% accurate. I think it's more just something fun to do. It even says on the website don't go decorating a nursery based of the results.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, because I think those things can be fun, but I just wanted to let you know... My brother-in-law has Biology and Chemistry degrees and as much as he wants those things to work for us women, he says there is NOTHING in your urine to tell you what the baby's gender is... otherwise doctors would be having you pee in a cup to test and not getting an ultrasound.
I did it for fun and it came out girl and my LO is all boy! : ) I have a friend who is due the day before me who took 2 of them, both came out girl and she's having a boy.
I'm showing up late to this thread. But I wanted to point out that the 20 weeks u/s is not just to determine gender. It's to get specific measurements of the baby's body parts- to ensure the baby is growing and has no abnormalities. It's not just for determining gender. Finding out the gender is just a bonus.
