Caleb has had cold symptoms since Sat...cough and runny nose. He's still on the nebulizer treats 2x a day. He ran a low grade fever initially but it's gone. Nurse at pedi's office said if fever persisted more than 3 days to bring him in. Well it didn't. But now he's having this gross mucus diarrhea. Like he'll pass gas and this gross stuff comes out....sorry TMI. I'm assuming it's because he's swallowing all the drainage from his nose. He's eating, drinking, sleeping, and playing ok. So do I just wait it out a few more days (they said if he's not better in 10 day to call back) or do I call today? WWYD???
Re: should I call the pedi?
I would say if he is eating/drinking/playing/sleeping ok to wait it out and see what happens. If you obviously think he is getting worse then I would call and go back in.
We have had a nonstop runny nose and occassional cough for 2 months now....I have decided this is just how our winter will be.
Hope he gets better soon!
I probably would not call if it doesn't last too long. But I don't think it ever hurts to call and talk to a nurse, so if it makes you feel better, then do it.
