Do you need to clean bottles before using microwave sterilizer?

I am assuming at least you need to rinse bottles, but do I need to wash (with a bottle brush) with soap, etc before sterilizing???

Yes. Sterilizing will not remove milk scum and such.

Yes. But you really only need to sterilize before the first use, not after every use. Washing with soap and water is just fine.

I use the Medela steam bags and it says to wash bottles first.
