Re: S/O from UO- CPS-worthy behaviors

  • I let DS play alone on the other side of the room while I play Fishville and Farmville.

He likes to chase the cat and often ends up with his face up the cat's arse!

my kid has had chocolate milk. more than once. (low sugar nesquick, but still...)

I'll see your chocolate milk and raise you -- b/c I flavored DD's milk with nasty HFCS-containing chocolate syrup! *gasp*

I drink it regularly myself -- so my next baby is already doomed, too. :) DD has also had mulled cider, orange juice and egg nog.

Oh, and DH lets her put her mouth on his beer bottles. While she's wearing his baseball cap backwards.

  • Emmerson's crib is full of stuff. A blanket, a few stuffed animals, a tyke light, a couple of books...and as many paci's as she can hoard.
  • Every morning DD wakes up between 6:30 and 7:30. I get up with her and I give her a cup, 2 graham crackers and go lay on the couch with her and sleep while she watches Curious George and Harold and the Purple Crayon.

  • DS gets dessert every night.  Usually some sort of cookie...sometimes even two.

We eat lunch at the mall usually once a week...Sbarro's for me, usually BK for him.  In my defense, it's the only "meat" the boy eats all week.  :::sigh:::

He needs the following items on in order to go to sleep:  Fisher Price aquarium, his seahorse, and Scout.  He also requires two books and about 8 stuffed animals.  Whatever gets him to sleep is my motto.

my kid bodyslammed my dog, drove an elbow in her rib, and the pup snapped at her and gave her a nice scratch on her cheek (i wasn't here, so call cps on daddy-o).  not exactly cps, really, but i'm sure the haters would be calling for duch's immediate death.

omg and you're not going to immediately re-home her?  for SHAME!

    the kid or the dog?

  • This morning I had Judah sitting up on the counter while I washed the dishes.

He eats maybe one meal a day in his highchair.  We usually eat sitting on the living room floor or in my bed.

dang, the kid started it.  but the dog is much more of an a$shole on a regular basis.  the kid rarely pisses in the floor.  but if the rules say the kid gets rehomed....well, i guess i'll just have to keep 'em both.

p.s. as i typed this said dog came up to me with such sad eyes, like she knew what i was talking about.  drama queen.

wait?  what?  which one started the fight?  yeah, that one.

  • I smoked DS in the face with a pot.  I was pulling a big pot of chilli out of the fridge, swung around and kablamo.  I didn't realize he had snuck up on me but really every time the fridge gets opened he bolts for it so I should have known.

DS learned the word cookie and would grab my hand and pull me to wear I had them stashed then he'd put his arms up and point to them.  I had to give him one each time because, come one it was so sweet.

He also eats off the floor, has chocolate milk, gets snacks in the carseat, gets a sippy in the crib if he wakes too early and has a blanket and stuffed animal in the crib.

I let him play in the dirt, play with rocks and get filthy dirty.  He also had a tan this summer.

  • DS sneaks dog food.  He loves it.

I open the oven door while he is in the kitchen and hold him away with one foot while inserting/removing stuff with my hands.

I only change his diaper when it is really puffy, or has poop in it.

Occasionally I'll see him chewing something and I'll make a half hearted effort to remove whatever foreign object he's gotten ahold of, but once I've made sure it isn't something that can choke him I give up.

Ditto all of these except the dog food one (we don't have a dog). But DD likes to sneak toothpaste.

  • DD has been hanging out in a bar/restaurant every few months since she was 8w old.  last weekend while at said bar, she ran into the pool table face first, stumbled, then fell on her butt.  And I laughed.
  • imagekelbrian:

If DD drops food on the ground at play group or whatever, I let her pick it back up and eat it. She's usually so quick that I can't get to it anyway.

she and timmy were also trading sippies back & forth at our last play date. meh. they'll survive.

  • DD likes to pull the stickers off bananas and apples - yesterday there was something odd in her poopy diaper.  Yep, it was one of those stupid fruit stickers!

    LMAO!!! too funny!

  • This thread makes me roll my eyes a little but it might be me being uptight.

I hope none of you ever have to call CPS for your kids.

But one day maybe you will, you just never know what life will bring. We have had to call CPS for DH's boys twice now and it is one of the most heartbreaking things to go through.

  • You are being uptight.  You need the "stick in the mud" badge.  You know this whole thread is people being facetious.  No one really thinks anything here is CPS worthy and we all realize what really is.

Sheesh, MBW, this is all clearly mocking people who think things are more important than they are, not people who actually have issues that require the state to get involved.

Have you been having trouble with the boys' mom again, because you seem to be taking a lot of stuff personally today, relating it to them.

Sort of. Just weird stuff relating to why we had to call before and we have been worrying a lot about it.

But I think if I had to pin it down it would be seeing in that U/O how people think retarded is so cool and then this. I guess until you live it you really don't have the perspective on it. I probably would have joked about CPS and the word retarded before I was placed in the situation I am in now.

I wouldn't say stick in the mud. Jaded maybe?

I understand.  Endangering kids isn't really funny.

I see both sides, though, since we're not currently dealing with any bio-mom drama, so I'll say: I feed my LO popcorn and raisins and let him eat with grown up flatware.

I also have to say I still don't get the Mod-trapper-keeper joke.  She's the one who fessed up the other day to keeping her kid penned in a PNP to keep him/her less mobile.

Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.

Lol thanks for making me laugh! Seriously, who gives two rats poo what Mod think about you.

Don't get me wrong I do all kinds of stuff I am sure isn't up to perfect mom level. I swear I am not some TV nazi. I was just trying to make the point that if you turn it on everywhere all the time it is easy to slip into the habit of overusing it.

::hugs:: I understand. I saw the two posts, kind of back-to-back, and thought maybe you were a little frustrated.
