F/U to wendys frosty question

I have heard that we should not be eating softserve ice cream, because of the bacteria in the machines, which may cause listeria.  I have actually read a article about it.  Has anyone else heard anything?  I love Chik-fil-a cones, milkshakes and I would think that most fast food resturants use softserve to make their shakes.  This would be very depressing!! lol

    I've never heard this but I'll tell you what, come to think of it that makes sense. I used to work at a place that served soft serve ice cream when I was 16 and sometimes we would forget to clean out the machine for a week. Embarrassed

    When you opened it up it smelled like rotten milk, all the while we were still serving soft cones because hey we were all 16 and didn't give a rats a$$

    Probably out back making out with his girlfriend. You can't really expect much from an 18 yo manager.

    When I worked at Friendly's we cleaned out the soft serve machine every single night.

     I know I did not worry about this with my other pregnancies, but how concerned should you be or is this another one of those crazy issues.  I am sure there are many places you can eat and get some kind of bacteria.

    thanks for the heads up. i just went to in'n'out the other day and had a shake and freaked out a little just now. i just found out they use real ice cream. hallelujah! looks like carl's jr does too.

    It is the listeria that is the concern.  I had it a couple times with DD but it had to be a place I knew.

    Well I'm parent of the year then.  I ate soft-serve and grilled cheese with bacon last night for dinner.  It was awesome.

    Sorry about the last post...but I just asked my Dr. this at my last appointment. She said that she has plenty of patients that eat ice cream throughout their entire pregnancies and their LO's are just fine. She said stick to the main no no's and everything else in moderation. Run to DQ and get whatever you like!

    We have a local place here that sells frozen custard.  Raw egg and eleventy billion calories but they make the best chocolate malts! I have one almost every week.
