"How did your husband take it?..."

This is said after I say that we are expecting another little girl... I never know what to say... I am super excited to have another girl (so is my DH) so I love sharing the news when someone asks... so why such rude comments back?? What are they expecting me to say "oh he's devistated?"

I was super shocked the first time I was asked this... now I get it all the time from other women and from guys too?? Really?

Those kinds of comments drive me nuts. My MIL (who is great and I love) said something a few weeks ago, that our next one will hopefully be a boy. Why? We're fine with whatever the next one is-as I wasn't even halfway through this pregnancy!

Yes, heaven forbid that a husband actually wants a little girl. Thankfully mine was hoping for one and he guessed right.

People are ignorant. I'm already getting asked when we'll try for #3 because people assume we'll keep trying until we get a girl. Seriously, people? Give it a rest.

I hate this too. What do people think? I had a mom of a daughter ask me if we were excited about having a girl. Of course we are! What are you expecting to hear? Then about 10 times I had my MIL ask me if DH is ok with it being a girl. He never even expressed once to anyone that he would be disappointed in a girl and he didn't seem the slightest bit disappointed when we found out it was a girl. I'm sure he secretly would like to have a boy but he's stoked on his soon to be daughter. Maybe MIL asked that b/c she's secretly disappointed in her daughter who is a complete whack job!

All I hope is that my daughter takes after the women from my side. Every woman on DH's side of the family is crazy. This is the only thing that scares me...

Next time someone asks, tell them, "He's miserable and wishes I'd never gotten pregnant." I mean, honestly, what do they want you to say? I've gotten the "Is he excited too?" which doesn't bother me. But the wording "How did he take it" would piss me off because it implies that having a girl (or another girl in your case) is something that has to be "endured" and may or may not be "difficult to accept." Lame.

We made sure to tell everyone that DH wanted another girl, bc we were sick of hearing "Oh, I hope Dh gets his baby boy!" WTF is wrong with people? Neither Dh nor I cared what gender either child was, we just wanted healthy children, and it annoys me to no end when people do not understand that. Apparantly quite a few people are just too hung up on gender I guess.
