It was originally our boy name, but my husband thinks we should use it if we have a girl. Since we decided on it being our boy name awhile ago, I can't bring myself to think of it for a girl. Thanks for your input!
i guess hearing it sounds like a boy, but reading it when spelled with a "y" would make me think its a girl....any other spelling i'd assume boy. either its different and i like it for either a boy or girl
It sounds like something painful but if I had to give it a gender I would say boy. It seems too harsh for a girl. I would spell it with the i for a boy.
Married 5/31/08 * TTC#1 9/09 - 2/11 after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Ok, well I actually have a Breckin boy, so I love it . I have recently met a female adult named Brechen, but pronounced the same as Breckin. I like it with a "y" though, too. And FWIW, DH and I get a very positive reaction when others hear Breckin's name.

Yay! This excites me I'm glad you have a picture of your Breckin up so I can "See" a Breckin, you know? We're a fan of trendy unique names....names like Matthew, William, etc. are boring to us, so I think people who like traditional names aren't going to like Breckin. Oh well, it's our son.... and I don't know anyone else named Breckin (other than Breckin Meyer), and that's kind of what we're going for!
I have twin boys and one is Breckyn, the other is Rhys. I don't know why people seem to dislike the name Breckyn so much on here and other threads. It is a name that can go either gender, such as Riley, Taylor, Cameron, etc. I liked it better for a boy, but that was just my preference.
And how is it not a "real name"? It has a meaning and nationality.

We're using our middle names, so it would be...
Breckin Michael
or
Breckyn Leigh

Boy for sure.
Just avoid the middle name "Ridge"
Breckin - boy
i don't like it.
lol Well you don't have to name your son Breckin.
And don't worry, Bridge is not the middle name haha
This was my first thought!

Breckin/Breckyn just makes me confused. I wouldn't even know what to do with that name. Not a fan.
