What brought you to the adoption board: I'm adopted and wanted to talk to some other ladies who are going through the adoption process. I feel more at home on this board than any of the other ones. Everyone is so warm and friendly and I love it!
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: I am currently not in the process of adopting, but my husband and I are wanting to in a couple of year. Being adopted myself adoption is very near and dear to me. There are so many children in this world that need loving families and I wish I could take in all of them. I am so thankful for adoption and for my wonderful parents who opened their hearts and lives to me when I was 3 days old. They are my parents and the only parents I've known and I love them more than anything.
And a random fact about you! Hmm...the hard question! I have a pet peeve about the way that money should face in my drawer at work. And in my wallet. And it has to go from smallest to largest. Haha.

What brought you to the adoption board: We were on the Pregnancy Loss board for a long time, then the TTCAL board, then after we had our last loss we moved straight to adoption. It's helped us maneuver through the toughest questions we've faced so far.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: DH and I have made the biggest decisions of our lives this month. We have made agreements on the adoption steps we want to take, what kind of adoption, and which agency we are going with.
A random fact about me: I speak Spanish and Italian. Oh, and I can roll my tongue.

What brought you to the adoption board: I have always planned to adopt to complete my family
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: Due to my dr dragging his feet with giving me a diagnosis and my agency not allowing fertility treatments while adopting, we can't start with the agency this weekend as we had planned. We'll have to wait until the spring orientation. Boo! Hiss!
And a random fact about you! I can operate a Ferris wheel and numerous other midway rides.

What brought you to the adoption board: I started on The Nest when planning my wedding in 2005; then went to TTC: then to TTTC when we found out about our infertility issues. After several IF treatments and miscarriages decided that we were meant to build our family through adoption. Actually lurked on the adoption board since November 2008, but have been active on the board since about June 2009.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We had a failed match recently, but are currently active and praying for the right match to come to us soon!
And a random fact about you! My hubby and I went to the same preschool and Kindergarten together, fell in love at 16, and have been happily married since we were 25. Lucky to have found my love so young!!

What brought you to the adoption board: Start on the knot to plan my wedding, came back to IF support and then moved on to Adoption Board.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: DD was placed a little over a year ago. Adoption was finalized in Oct 09. We got back and forth on adoption number 2 currently...we're not sure, we may be one and done!

What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We are still researching and reading to decide what is the best route for us. We also want to get some traveling in before we really get started.

What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We are doing foster to adopt, waiting on our next placement

What brought you to the adoption board: I started lurking here before we even knew if we'd have trouble TTC. My younger siblings are adopted, so adoption has always been a "normal" part of my life and something that I had considered. When it became clear that we'd probably have difficulty conceiving without fertility treatments, I started hanging out here more often.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We are considering IA, but we aren't moving very fast. We still haven't found a program that we are entirely comfortable with. We're taking our time and investigating every single option.
And a random fact about you!: When I was in college, I dyed my hair purple. Recently I became tempted to dye it that color again, but I am now a lawyer and it would be pretty odd for a lawyer to appear in court with purple hair.
My hubby and I met in Sunday School when we were 4, started dating at 16, and married at 21

What brought you to the adoption board: Was on the Knot for two years planning my wedding, then ended up at the Nest... found this board three kids later after bio daughter and adopted twins (DA).
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: All the questions are starting all over again! We are planning to begin an independent adoption for #4 later this year. Just researching right now and getting our ducks in a row.
And a random fact about you! My husband comes home from Afghanistan in 8 dayssss! I'm sure there are other things I could share, but that's the only thing I seem to think about right now

What brought you to the adoption board: Used to use The Knot for wedding. Came on right when we decided to adopt and needed more resources.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: Just finalized H's adoption last month and are now surprised to be adopting his full bio sibling due in June. Never thought we would have more than one child!
And a random fact about you!: DH and I are going to Belize in a month to celebrate my 30th birthday and I can't wait for a vacation. This will be our first extended trip away from our son. Nervous to be away but excited for some alone adult time before the craziness begins.
I knew I felt a kinship with you! I LOVE purple hair, and have had it myself often. Recently, my hairstylist, who herself sports the purple, told me that she can no longer recommend it for me because of the amount of gray I have, the fact that I refuse to touch it up every couple of weeks, and the fact that it fades in my hair too quickly. I'm still mourning the loss. Humph! {arms crossed, bottom lip pushed out} I'm still thinking of doing it again anyway.

What brought you to the adoption board--We've known for a while that we would like to adopt after we had 2 bio kids. Because of 3 m/c and SIF we've shifted plans, and have decided to begin the adoption process now.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now--We submitted our application to our local government agency(Children's Aid Society--Ontario)in December 09, and we will begin P.R.I.D.E training on Mar.22.
And a random fact about you!-- I lived in Nigeria for a year as toddler.
That's fantastic! I'm so glad to find someone else who likes purple hair. I would dye my hair again in a heartbeat if it weren't for my profession... so I definitely think you should still consider purple for your hair.
Ha! I work for the state legislature. I just go for more of a burgundy now than a manic panic purple. I haven't had any complaints. I even had a prior boss (when I worked for parole) tell me she didn't care if my hair was striped and polka-dotted, as long as I got my work done.
Too bad judges are not always so open-minded.

What brought you to the adoption board I've been on the Knot/Nest since '04 before I got married. Once we tried to have kids, I migrated to the TTC boards, and then here.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now We are homestudy-approved for domestic infant adoption and awaiting placement.
And a random fact about you! I can eat Mexican food anytime, anywhere, multiple times a week. I never tire of it.

What brought you to the adoption board: I've been on here off and on for a couple of years. I rarely ever post since we haven't actively started the process yet.
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We have gone back and forth on what kind of adoption we feel comfortbale with. After lots of praying we are feeling drawn to foster to adopt. We are going to spend this next year preparing ourselves and plan to start the application process the beginning of next year.
And a random fact about you! I'm a HUGE animal lover! We just adopted our second dog last week. An 8 week old pit bull/ shepherd mix. This brings out total to 2 cats and 2 dogs!

What brought you to the adoption board: DH and I always knew we wanted to adopt one after having bio children. After starting the process of IA, I split my time between here and 12-24 (yikes- DD will be 1 year old tomorrow)
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: We JUST mailed out our Home Study application and fee (yeah) and our I600A and G28 forms to USCIS. We are still getting together some paperwork for our placement agency. I still need one W2 and 1040 from my accountant and a signed Aff of Health Insurance from DH's HR department and then that paperwork will go off to them.

What brought you to the adoption board: Used the knot for planning my wedding, then after being diagnosed with POF I started frequenting the adoption board when it finally showed up, but it was really SLOW in the beginning so switched to another online adoption forum and now this adoption board is HOPPIING and the other one is SLOW
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: I am a mommy to a beautiful baby girl who is almost (gasp) one year old! Finalized adoption in Sept. Open DA
And a random fact about you!: Never ever expect me to eat either a fresh banana( I will eat bananas in smoothies, banana bread etc) or meatloaf: GAG!

what brought me here- I moved here from the knot and was very happy to see an adoption board
What is going on now? We finalized the adoption of our daughter this month. My mother keeps telling me I need to "go out and find another baby" but we are happy just being a family of 3 right now.
random fact- I have never eaten meat but acording to my husband and MIL I make a mean chicken pot pie and meatloaf !

What brought me here: We have been trying for a baby with a Reproductive Endocrinologist since May '07. We have done many infertility treatments and have had 5 miscarriages.
We have started the independent domestic infant adoption process. Our profile books should be delivered today and we meet an adoption attorney next friday.

What brought you to the adoption board: I've been on the Nest for a while, and stumbled upon this board. Due to medical reasons, we can no longer have biological children. Our family's not yet complete and we're thrilled to pursue adoption!
What is going on in your life with adoption right now: Waiting until our baby is a little older (2ish) before applying for a DA program. We have our agency and program selected though.
And a random fact about you! I spent 5 months living in Tasmania when I was 22. Best experience ever!

We decided to adopt and I had been on the Knot during wedding planning and also spent some time lurking at the Bump. When we decided Adoption was our family plan, I came here!
We have completed the application for DA through CAS here in Ontario. We are now waiting for a homestudy.
