Is there anything you do to help (beside gas drops) or do you know why they got super gassy? DS has been super gassy lately and I can't figure out why. His diet hasn't changed and he's not on any medicines. Every now and then he's get fussy from the gas pains. His dirty diapers haven't changed any either. Any idea?
Re: anyone's LO get extremely gassy?
DS gets gassy if he eats broccoli, cauliflower, and anything tomato or chocolate. (Just like when I BF him, coincidentally.)
If he eats small amounts, he is ok. But if he eats more then normal or more then one of those things in a day/24 hours, he gets extremely fussy and you can tell he is uncomfortable.
We pulled out the Mylicon again and it really seems to help him.
ETA: DH gave him beans twice. Never again. It was horrid. Our dog couldn't stand being in the same room as him and had his nose barried under his bed.

This was one of the major symptoms (though not the only one) we had when we discovered DS has major food intolerances. He would wake up in the middle of the night screaming. I was giving him Myclion nightly. This was up until 2 weeks ago. He would toot or burp and fall right back asleep. He was a giant gas ball. After other testing, to rule out other causes, we pulled him off all foods and put hm on a special formula for 10 days. We are now reintroducing foods very slowly.
I think DS is kind of a worse case scenario kind of kids. His was extreme and he had other issues as well. If he is in pain, I would definitely mention it to the pedi.
My little guy gets that way sometimes too--and gas drops do help--but I also try and do some leg exercises with him---like the bicycle--or I fold his legs up---or push them in to his belly. That helps-and also WARM fluids help too. Like warming some milk.
