5 weeks - feeling fine?!

Hi,

I'm 5 weeks pregnant - first pregnancy.  I have my nurse appointment next week.  Anyway, I feel fine - my boobs are alitlte sore but other than that I don't have morning sickness and I'm not feeling tired, etc.

I hope this is normal.  I've always heard all these terrible stories of the first 3 months.  I want to feel fine, but when you don't have much as in ways of symptoms it kinda makes you worry too!

Just wondered how everyone was feeling who was 5 weeks or around/near it.

Re: 5 weeks - feeling fine?!

  • Just you wait!  It could kick in at 8 weeks, or you could be totally lucky.  Chances are, you will have some sort of symptom soon, but not everyone gets m/s.

  • I didn't have any symptoms except for giddyness up until 6/7 weeks.  I thought I was going to have a symptom free pregnancy and super happy, then BAM! Fatigue, moodyness, nausea, and sore boobies all came in 48 hours.

I am going to hope you stay symptom free :)

Use of that phrase has made me want to slap people. True story!

  • I'm at 4w5d, and also feeling fine! I have heard that when the 6th week kicks in, symptoms tend to show up... so just hang in there and enjoy this time... I'm trying to!
  • While I don't get M/S there are a host of other very lovely symptoms that can rear their ugly head. For example:gas, bloat, fatigue, hunger, headaches and did I mention fatigue. Happy pregnancy though and Congrats!
  • Not everybody gets m/s. But wait till later on. you might get them (I hope not, hopefully you're a lucky one). For me it didn't start till 7-8 weeks. GL.
  • Thanks everybody!! I'm sure I'll be posting something in a few weeks at how awful I feel! I just can't wait to go to the doctor's so I can get my list of things to do/eat/drink, etc.  Plus, the feeling of someone telling you that you are really pregnant and everything is fine.

Congratulations to everyone! This is going to be fun posting things and seeing how everyone is doing as we all go along day by day!

  • Congratulations!   Good Luck and I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy :-)

My m/s started at 5wks 3days and still going strong. I am on prescription (Zofran) to provide a little relief.

  • I also am around 6.5 weeks and have very few symptoms, and enjoying every moment (though like you said, it did worry me a bit, I'm OK with it now!)  Let's hope we are the lucky ones!  Good luck and enjoy!
  • You are pretty lucky, I would say :) I am just now 5 weeks and I am exhausted! No nausea though except for after meals. Hoping I wont get m/s too bad! I also have some mild cramping, sleeplessness and I am just getting to the point to where I am hungry. All last week I felt sick at the thought of food.

  • I am at 5 weeks too and have a smattering of mild symptoms.  I have cramps that come and go.  My boobs hurt, but not all the time; usually when I lean on something and smoosh them a little it is painful.  I am bloated after lunch.  And my nose is stuffy.  Nothing sounds good, but nothing makes me sick either.  I am having a hard time wanting to eat things; although I am hungry.  I was really tired last weekend, but I am doing better this week.

  • it kicked in for me around 7-8 weeks w/dd1
  • I felt very few symptoms at 5 weeks, my breasts hurt but that was about it.  At around 7 weeks I started to have definite aversions to certain foods and smells and am now living off bagels and cream cheese.  But still at 8 weeks I don't have much to complain about and am still feeling pretty good.  You are still early, but maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.
  • My M/S kicked in around 6 wks.
  • I am feeling fine too. Just the typical sore breasts, a little tired (not much though), and a little cramping. I am sure I will be posting in a week or so that I am sick as a dog. :0)  Good luck! Fingers crossed the m/s fairy doesn't grace us with its presence. :0)

  • I hit the 5 week mark today.  I don't really have many symptoms yet - which has me worrying sometimes too.  I've been getting cramps here and there and I've noticed me getting more hungry.  That's about it though.  I'm sure I'll be in a different ballpark in the next week or two.  I better enjoy this while it lasts.

  • This is my second baby and I feel fine also at 5 weeks.  I never had any pregnancy symptoms with first except for feeling tired for a few weeks.  Just consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
  • I'm in the same boat...just sore breasts.  I'm expecting m/s to hit in the next two weeks.  Don't worry, be happy.  Paradise
