You never know. I didn't get an internal until 38 weeks and I was 1cm so my guess would be at 35 weeks I wouldn't have had much progress if any at all.

last week I had my first internal and had no progress, we will see what this week brings.

It's really a coin toss or you could go ask your magic 8 ball. Progress means nothing anyway so even if you are making progress you could sit stay like that for weeks. As for me, I've had no progress at each of my internals and I mean nothing is going on down there at all.

the internal is to test for strep b....i am assuming they will check my cervix right?

I had my first internal last week and wasn't expecting it at all until next week so it was a bit of a shock. I actually was 1cm dilated and 40% effaced at 35 weeks 1 day, which was even MORE of a shock!

I had my GBS test done and they didnt do an internal, just stuck the swab up there and that was it...so im not sure if your Dr will actually check you, but everyone's different!! Like pp said, take all the 'progress' (or lack there of) with a grain of salt! GL

The GBS swab is not an internal. They'll just swab your vagina and anus.

I did not have an internal at my GBS swab.

I haven't had any progress yet. Last week I had my GBS & 1st internal. 2nd internal today & OB said nothing going on yet!

my dr did the "while I'm down there we'll check you out" so I think if her head wasn't so far down he wouldn't have bothered with an internal

I definitely learned not to get my hopes up, I was "maybe a centimeter" at my first internal (37 weeks), and I don't know why, but cried the whole way home, I guess I thought I'd be further than that! Silly hormones :-)
