Babies: 3 - 6 Months

PSA frozen washcloths as teethers

my mom suggested this, and we finally tried it. it works awesomely!

just soak a few of those baby wash cloths in cold water, put them in the freezer (we put them in a ziplog to keep them clean), and make sure to spread them out so they don't freeze together.

tylenol has not seemed to do the trick for him and he has a hard time fitting those cold ring teethers in his mouth, but the wash cloths work really well!

  • DD likes these as well! All those frozen teether rings are so odd shaped. She can never get them in her mouth, we have to hold them for her. Washcloths are easy for her to grasp.
  • this didn't work for us. I think the cold was still too sensitive for him, teething tabs all the way lol

exactly. by the way, i love your new siggy! she's so cute!

  • A few of my friends recommended NOT freezing the washcloths, as the frozen material can damage the baby's gums, but to refrigerate them instead. Has anyone tried that?

My DS is really teething now.

  • My Mom suggested this also but we haven't tried it yet. Strangely enough our vet suggested it for our dog when he was losing his puppy teeth... he enjoyed chewing on the frozen cloth! *lol*

hmm, i feel like that would be a huge mess. or do you not wet it first? and it probably wouldn't stay cold long. my LO is chomping on anything and everything he can reach - including my fingers, arm, knuckles, etc. lol.

  • Going to have to keep this in mind.
