Babies: 9 - 12 Months

we're switching to milk! Bought my last can of formula!!

He's 11 months and 1 week and I am determined that the can of formula I bought on the way in to work this morning is going to be our last. We started this morning, doing half milk and half formula.

Good bye extra large Target bill!

I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED.

he sucks it down, same as always. I swear, that kid will eat anything you put in front of him!

  • while that is great news, and Id be excited too...

its not YOUR last can of formula! =)

ETA: (theres plenty more in your future)

BTW i havent congratulated you! CONGRATS!

  • We are starting the transition ourselves.  Lily had the pleasure of drinking whole milk while my parents were babysitting while we were in Vegas, and ever since then she is almost flat-out refusing her bottles.  I'm sure it is the taste--soy formula tastes like cardboard so I really can't blame her.

How is D doing with it?  Does he like it?

well, I'm hoping to BF again with #3 (I did with #1, but the long NICU stay with #2 hurt us re: BFing) ... however, argh, you are probably right. At least I'll get a break for a few months, though!

He does like it. He's been on a lactose-sensitive formula for-EV-er. We tried using regular milk, but it made his poop acidy and gave him a welty rash. So we switched to soy milk this week and SUCCESS!

Sweet!  Lactaid may also work for ya...it is lactose free.  I used to make Lily's oatmeal with it back in the day.

Has he tried chocolate milk yet?  I gave Lily some and she had this "you've been holding out on me beyotch" look on her face.  It was hilarious.

not yet, but he's had ice cream and now he thinks it's his RIGHT to have some when we do. We've created a monster!

(also, he eats milk and ice cream with no problem, so IDK why the regular milk gave him issues? weird.)

That is weird.  I started giving Lily yogurt like 2 months ago even though she is still drinking soy formula.
