Crib/Dresser

Did anyone put the crib and dresser on their registry?  We don't plan on putting the twins in their cribs for the first month or so anyways.  Most places have the furniture in stock.  My shower is 2 months prior to my due date.  Thoughts?

    I registered for the crib, I already had a dresser to use.  Its what you need.  Can you afford to purchase those things on your own?  Can the ppl that are purchasing things for you afford to buy them?  The registry is supposed to be things that you will need for the baby, and a crib and dresser fall into that category.

    No. My parents already offered to buy the crib for us, and we bought the dressers ourselves.

    I kind of doubt that someone is going to buy furniture for you (unless they have a lot of money to spend), but if your registry has a completion coupon/discount, you could benefit from adding it.

    We didn't but that was because my parents purchased the crib, mattress, dresser, and chest of drawers. Plus, our furniture was not available at the stores where we registered. HOWEVER, we would have put the furniture on our registry if it was available where we registered and had my parents not purchased the furniture. People like to go in together on gifts and so it's possible that you might get a piece of furniture ... you have nothing to lose, I'd register for it ...

    We were more of less thinking maybe if parents wanted to go in and purchase a crib or something of that sort. Not most people would not go in and purchase the really expensive items.  Thanks for your help.

    We put our crib on ours, but it's the Graco Lauren, so it's pretty reasonably priced. Also, when people ask what crib we're getting it's so much easier to say that it's on the registry.
