I have always heard on here about how to make sure that you don't register for clothes. I have taken that advice and didn't register for anything besides plain white onesies. However, even knowing what you girls told me I was still shocked at the amound of clothing that we got yesterday. READ: We are very grateful!

I counted 15 tops/pants/sleepers that we got and they are allllllllll 0-3 which we already have a lot of actually. Got gift receipts for them and I feel guilty for taking them back but I think I'm going to do some returns today after school and either keep the in store credit or buy a few of the "non-fun" items from our registry like mattress pads, etc. You girls were right for sure about the clothes! I can understand though. I know how hard it is to pass up little girl's clothing!

What was funny was comparing what my friends (who have had very recently had babies) bought me, and what MIL's friends bought me - guess who the practical items came from and who bought all the clothes.....
We have not had to buy ANY clothes so far - I'm only thinking now of getting maybe another pack of sleep gowns, but I may try and wait to see how big/small she ends up being!
I only got 3 outfits at my shower this past weekend and only one was a strange size. Fleece in a size 3 - 6months. My MIL tried to say that it would work for cool evenings. Umm, It doesn't get very cool at nice in Georgia in the summer to warrant fleece. Oh well. We are still very grateful.
The annoying thing that I got was a clearance baby carrier that I can't return from my DH's grandmother. I also got the really nice Beco that I registered for so I don't need both at all. Oh well.
Me too! I got a few more outfits then 3 but not many. I hadn't bought really any cloths because I figured I'd get a ton for my shower. Most of my guests bought off the registry, which was awesome!! Now I need to get a few outfits though.

Heh - I was surprised at how few clothes I got!
I got one newborn sleeper.
10 0-3 mo short-sleeved onesies (5 white, 5 patterned)
3 0-3 mo long-sleeved onesies (patterned)
3 0-3 month sleepers
10 3-6 mo short-sleeved onesies (5 white, 5 patterned)
3 3-6 mo long-sleeved onesies (patterned)
3 3-6 month sleepers
10 6-9 month onesies (5 white, 5 patterned)
and 2 sleep bags.
The thing that makes me laugh is being due in February and getting no pants.
15??! LOL I got well over 100 articles of clothing for LO at my shower, everything from NB to 24 months.
It took me four loads of laundry to do it all, and I cannot fit it all into my closet, so we are only putting through 6 months. I didn't take any of it back, but I figure I won't have to but LO clothes for at least a year.
It's a little ridiculous. After all this, I will NEVER buy clothes from someone for a baby shower again.
This!
You're so lucky you got receipts. I got tons of 0-3 month stuff too, in addition to 3 full boxes and 2 garbage bags full of hand me downs... no receipts, so unless I could find the item on BRU's site to add to my registry I couldn't return them, only trade up for another size (which if I didn't care for the outfit, I was SOL... Picture a sleeper that reminded me of Ralphie in the pink bunny suit in Christmas Story... "Aunt Clara had for years not only perpetually labored under the delusion that I was 4 years old, but also a girl.")
And then of course at Target, the couple of 0-3mo stuff I had without a receipt would've gotten me a like $1 store credit... lot of good that would do me.
