I'm pretty sure their reasons for the pact was to "keep" their boyfriend around. Also, to raise the babies together and dress them up like they are dolls instead of human beings.
I was freaking out during the whole movie while they smoked and drank. I wanted to jump through the screen and scratch their fvcking eyes out. Seriously. I was so pissed and sad for their babies. J was on the computer and kind of watching the movie with me. I complained to him and he just agreed with me that they were idiots.
(this may get me flames but I don't care.)
At the end, where one of the girls had alcohol poisoning, I was so pissed and thought I hope she lost the baby because she did not deserve to keep that baby. There are so many people trying to get pregnant and would do anything to keep their baby safe. They get pregnant on one try and go drinking and smoking.
It's terrible that being a teen mom is becoming a trend. I'll admit, I thought it would be cool to have a baby at a young age but I knew that was the stupidest thing ever and I did not intentionally get pregnant at a young age.
I hope the trend ends soon.
Re: I watched the Pregnnacy Pact last night and boy was I pissed.
I was watching Dr. Phil once, and he had a teen ager on there who wanted to get pregnant (I don't know why, maybe she was lonely or something). He had her spend a day with a new mom and an infant, and that changed her mind real quick!
Maybe they should make a show about that.
Seriously.
If my DS (or if I had a daughter) ever wanted to have a baby at a young age, I would ask the daycare center if he could work there for a week for free just to see how it is to raise babies. If not the daycare center, then someone with a baby who wants to take a break.
While I was in school (Junior year), I knew a girl who was trying to get pregnant. All I could think was, "You're a fvcking dumbass" but I just smiled and said okay. Luckily she didn't get pregnant because within the next month her and her boyfriend broke up.
It was fictional with actors, right? I know it's based on a true story, but I'm willing to bet the writers took creative license.
Also re: teen pregnancy - it's decreasing. Has been for years. Just b/c there are now popular shows about it, it doesn't mean it's really popular.
I hope so. Theres way more than a handful of mothers on this site that are under 20. I just love the " I didnt think I could get pregnant" ...any person with common knowledge, and not using birth control should know that it is possible to get pregnant. Thats just sad and a lack of education or common sense to me.
lol
thank you. just bc it's popular with the media doesn't mean there's some surge across the country.

I take issue with this. This is a really crap thing to say, especially since it was a damn movie and I highly doubt this part actually happened.
Yeah, she did a horribly stupid thing by getting alcohol poisoning, but don't forget that she wanted that baby.
ETA: Glance at my siggy if you wonder why I'm so irritated with this comment
In my eyes that only makes it a little better. Marriage doesnt always mean your fit to have a baby.
