Yellow gunk coming out of DS' ear

This does not seem good. He is just getting over a cold. Today it looked like there was a lot of ear wax buildup in there so I used a safety swab and tried to fish around. He was not a fan. Now he just woke up from a nap and his ear is leaking more greenish, yellow fluid.  Possible ear infection?

    I say pretty sure that's an ear infection, I think just getting over a cold seals it for me.

    Yes I agree. In fact it seems as if the ear drum has perforated, which means it won't hurt because there is no pressure build up. They may even be able to give you just drops to cure it, but most people still give antibiotics by mouth in a baby this young. Don't worry though, the ear drum heals up super duper fast and it won't cause any problems. It's just a little scary looking to see that coming out of the ear. I would call the dr in the am and ask for a same day appt.

    Thank you both for your responses. We called the ped and he gave us a prescription for antibiotics. He doesn't have a fever or really any other symptoms, but boy you're right about it being scary! Thanks for reassuring me that it should heal soon too : )
