well this conversation has came up a few times with DH and i but not much concern as i am only 23 and DH will be 27 next month. we would like 2 and i would like have 22 by time i am 30 but we been trying for 3 years with no such luck so at this point it is whatever is in God's plan
I don't have an official cutoff age. I always figured I'd be done by mid-late 30s, but since I just turned 33 and I'm still not pregnant, I figure my cutoff age is out the window. At least DH is 3 years younger than me. I'd like 2 kids, so hopefully that can still happen by age 40. If not, I'll probably move the cutoff age again because I want kids.

This is the most depressing post I have read in a very long time.
This "when will you stop trying thing?" drives me up the wall as much as "what month do you want to have your baby in?" and "how far would you go to get KU?"
Predicting what you think you may or may not do in the future is useless. Because you don't know until you get there.

I completely agree with you Cathy. It's so easy to throw out a random number when you're so early in the process. I'm sure prior to my divorce and year+ of IF, I could have easily thrown out a number as well. I guess I'm going to be one of those "old" mothers that some turn up their noses at.
Yea I have a cut off age... 35.. I have been telling myself for years that I want to be done having kids by the time I was 35. My mom was 41 when she had me and I just dont want to be an older mom. That said it might change as I am quickly heading towards that age. We are ttc #2 and its taking a bit longer than I hoped. If I dont get pregnant this cycle or next I will be 34 when I give birth. Eventhough I already have one I still hear that clock ticking...luckly we only want to have one more!
DD 11/5/10 born by c section
DS 9/8/07 born by c section due to Pre-e/Hellp Syndrome

I want 3...maybe 4. I'm 26 now and have 1. I would love to have my second when I'm 28, third when I'm 30 and 4th when I'm 32. Wouldn't it be nice if life worked out that way?
LMAO. When we started trying out first child would have been when I was 26.
Pushing 29 and no child.
Good luck with that. Hopeully you don't have shitty luck.
That's why I put a smily face. I know life doesn't turn out the way we plan. My brother is 6 yrs older than me. My parents definitely didn't plan that. I was "supposed" to be born 3 years earlier.
I'm sorry if I came across as insensitive. I really didn't mean to at all. Best of luck to you!
You are all so very, very young. It must have been nice to meet your soul mate at age 23. Unfortunately, that option was not open to me and I will have to live with my 30 something eggs.
Re: Cut off age for getting pg?
by 30... so i have 4 more years for #2 and i shall be done. hopefully i make it.
and now that things arent as "easy" as one would have thought i am not set on sticking to "by 30"
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

My IF blog
Agreed. I am 37 about to be 38 and DH just turned 40. I guess my cut off should have been 2 years ago, lol!
