Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Best Infant Carrier/Sling

So the past week DD has been not letting me sit her down at all and gets hysterical if I do. She only wants to be held by me and this is a completely new behavior because up until now she was a very independent baby. Anyways I can't get anything done and was looking for recommendations on something to wear her in.

I've heard of the Moby wrap, bjorn's, etc. But what's the best? And also for growing babies.

I do love that she now really wants me all the time though. It's just difficult sometimes.

  • I have a Moby and an Ergo. I love both. I use my Ergo all the time when we are out and about. DD is huge and it is even easier to carry her.

  • Hmm... I have a Moby, which rocks my sox BUT it's a PITA to get on and it's a lot of fabric to leave on if you're going to be taking LO in and out.  I was at Once Upon a Child the other day and found a Hot Slings there for $12.  BEST $12 I ever spent.  I can toss the thing on and have LO in it in seconds.  It works great for just being around the house.  I like the Moby still but I use that more for when i am going out somewhere and he'll be in it for a while.
  • I love, love, love my Ergo Sport. It's so comfortable, easy to use, and has great back support.

I really wanted to love my Moby... but DS hated it. I think it was too hot for him. I've heard great things about Babyhawks too.

Bjorn's are not good for baby's hips so I would stay away from that one.

  • LOVE my Mai-tai style carrier - and I made it myself for about $5.  It goes on easy, and takes a total of about 45 seconds to get Miles in and out of it.  Plus, it can be used in a variety of ways and with kids up to preschool age (though I made mine small, so I will probably have to make a bigger one later).

  • I think I'm leaning towards the moby wrap. Anyone know where I could get a good deal on one?
  • I have a Slingling.  Compfy and super cute fabric.  www.slinglings.com
  • I've heard HotSlings are fabulous. I own a Baby K'Tan which I love! Its similar to the moby but already structured so you don't have to try and figure out how to tie it all. You can use it in 8 different positions, and it can be used for toddlers too, which may be good in the future. You should check out the website, www.babyktan.com.
