So yesterday, the doctor told me "try and drink more water." DH SHOVED water down my throat all night last night and today while he was home. He's saying things like, "you can go take a bath after one more glass of water." Alright DAD.
I'm glad that he wants to take care of me and that he wants me to be healthy, but COME ON!
Re: Anyone suffering from DH being a pregnancy cop??
Mine isn't THAT bad... I don't think? But he does get like that...
My doc. told me I had to gain weight, so he likes to remind me of CARBS.
Then he won't let me do anything, I'll get up out of bed, and he'll be like "Lay down, what do you need?!" It's like... To pee, would you like to hold my hand?? And anytime I'm cooking, cleaning etc. he will come in and tell me to stop and try and take over...
I finally told him, I'm NOT disabled, please stop treating me like I am.
haha Im in the same boat..SO is the water POLICE....lol
He doesn't think I should drive during the winter - just in case.
I shouldn't walk on the ice - just in case. (We live in Iowa, it's all ice!)
I shouldn't carry anything - just in case.
I shouldn't lean on anything - it could 'dent' the baby.
The dog shouldn't lay on my lap - she could kick the baby.
I need to drink more.. the list goes on and on.
It's sweet that he cares, but he's educated enough to know that none of what he's saying is logical.
Apparently I've been conspiring with the doctors and the pregnancy book writers to trick him into letting me do all kinds of dangerous things.
oh man, mine is the worst!
'are you sure you can eat that'
'did you take your vitamin' (although not going to lie i kind of suck at remembering that)
oh but the worst worst worst is that he fights with me that we can't use lube (ky) during sex. i finally found the page in each of the 3 books i have that says its ok and put them out for him one night. enough was enough!
mine is totally the food police!!!
I'm not allowed to eat crab rangoon because its fried and unhealthy. no fried food. no canned food because its less healthy. (he's in NY. I'm having canned soup! haha!)
strangely he brought me home a dozen donuts last week (that I didn't ask for and didn't want). I'm not sure what makes donuts better than crab rangoon?
I used to get a lot of "Are you sure you can eat that?" and since my response was always "Would I pick it up and put it on my plate if I was not supposed to eat it?" he has laid off.
I wish he'd be the water police, I need help remembering to drink more.
It also helped that he was there when my doctor said "I don't really care what you eat. Just watch out for big game fish and shellfish. Be smart"
