NBR: Electric bill aghhh

Our electric bill was $200 MORE then it has ever been! It more then doubled. How is that freaking possible...

ours was considerably higher too. don't forget about that 2.5 weeks of below average temps... that's what did us in.

Our gas bill was significantly higher too last month due to the cold weather. We actually have a comparison on the bill comparing the average temp for this month vs. the same for last year. So it makes sense. I'm actually surprised ours was not higher than it was!

mine too!!!! i was pissed!!!! it was $100 more than last month which i don't get at all. i mean i knew it would be a little more due to christmas lights, but seriously??? i keep the house cold. i would hate to have seen it if i'd actually kept the house warm!!

I was just telling DH the other day that I was so happy that we're on an Equal Payment Plan, otherwise our gas bill would have been CRAZY from the cold spell.

Same here. Ours was much higher this month, but it still wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Ours was $70 higher than it has ever been and $150 higher than last month. It was definitely a shocker opening the bill, but I was assuming it would be higher b/c of the weather. Still sucks though.
