Is white furniture really a no-no for boys?

I keep hearing that, but I don't really think white has to say girl - do you? Regardless of gender I was thinking of doing a modern nursery with dark gray-blue walls, white moulding, all white furniture, and lime green accents: striped curtains for a boy and a damask print curtain for a girl. Bedding would probably be mostly white with a lime green bumper. What do you think?

I'm putting antique white furniture in baby boy's room so obviously I think it will look great. That's just the color of furniture I liked most for any young child so I hope to use it for all of our kids.

DS is 3 and has white furniture. His bedding and decor are bright, bold colors and the lines of his furniture are very straight - no curves or scrollwork.

I think the style of furniture can make it look more feminine or masculine, more so than the color. So, I obviously think that white furniture can be gender neutral

my boys have white cribs, and i don't think they look girly.

granted, we didn't find out what we were having ahead of time, but i thought white was gender-neutral in any case.

I'm glad the poll results are what they are cuz I just bought a white furniture set. It's very "cape cod" (best description I'm coming up with) so not necessarily girly...

We haven't found out the sex yet, but this furniture set could go either way. It's all in the bedding and decor...

I think white furniture for a boy is ok. Depends entirely on the accessories you choose whethere the room tilts towards "girly" or "boyish".

Elle, "Cape Cod" is the expression I think of too for white furniture with a boy. Think crisp white furniture & trim, and blue/green/taupe/beige bedding, curtains, and accent pieces. Very beachy too!

All white furniture for an older boy is kind of strange (of course it depends on the rest of the decor). But for a baby? I don't think it matters.

We're mixing white and wood furniture. Our crib is white with a dark wood drawer at the bottom. We're getting wood dressers to match the drawers, and incorporating white in other areas of the room (curtains, frames, shelves, etc). We're team green.

Well, I sure hope not because my nephews room is decked out in all white furniture. We have a girl and have all white furniture but fully intend on saving everything for when we have our next baby regardless of whether it is another girl or a boy.

I decided against white for our boy because we got a convertible crib and I didn't think white furniture was really appropriate once he was older and it was converted to a full bed. I think white is fine for a boy's nursery though.

I am having a boy and my nursery sounds similiar to yours. I have a modern white with espresso sides crib, blue walls and brown and white accents. I have never heard that white cribs are for girls only.

I don't think so, but my mom totally does. I told her I wanted a white crib (she's buy this one) whatever the sex, and she finally is starting to see the light, but she was against it at first. And yes, I did have to show her a PBK catalog, lol!

White is fine for a boy or girl. And does it really matter? Babies don't care, we do, so pick out whatever makes you happy. It will be several years before a child will care or even notice, and at that point you can coordinate bedding, etc. with your white furniture. And according to their likes and personality! Big Smile
