Did any of you had any problems filling the syringe? When I tried to draw up the medicine, hardly anything came out. Then, when I pulled the plunger back, the plunger would go forward when I let it go. It's hard to explain, but it was such a pain. Anyone else have issues like that?

Re: Come in if you've done PIO injections...
My RE said that we could put the bottle of PIO in a warm glass of water. This will make the oil less thick and able to pull into the syringe better.

There might be a small bubble in the needle part... sit the vial on your counter, pull plunger to 1 cc, insert needle into vial and push the plunger in. Pick the vial back up and try to pull back then... hopefully you just have a small air bubble in there.
If that doesn't work, get out a new needle and try it again... good luck!
I'm wondering that too. . . .
Thanks for the advice about warming it. Hopefully that will help!
Yeah, I'm using the big needle, which, to make matters worse on my first try, I couldn't unscrew the large needle, so I had to try it all over again with another syringe. *sigh*

I use the biggest needles I've got (I think they are 17guage) and then switch the needle to a smaller one for injecting. That helps.
Warming it up helps too. I run the faucet until it gets really hot, then let the bottle sit in there for a good 5 minutes.
GL!
We had a major freak out on our first night because it was causing us the same exact problem!!
But we learned that if there is a bubble it will not work so we kept trying it over and over and it usually took us a couple of times of trying to fill up the syringe.
Looks like you got some good advice already but this is what I do:
warm the vial under water
draw the needle back and push the air into the vial, this should help with resistance
it is a little hard to draw up every time, and I agree with the pp to check the needle out and make sure it's big enough, once I accidentally grabbed one of the trigger shot needles and its a lot smaller, there was definitely a difference...
Good Luck
