I do it sometimes, especially when I go too long between appointments. Feria is always good. Last time, I went to Sally and bought the color and mix. I think I bought the professional L'Oreal Preference. It came out nice.
One tip- go one shade lighter than you think you need. It always comes out darker.
I had tried most of the different brands.. They all are pretty much the same.. I do not recommend the 10 minute root touch up.. It really dried out my hair! None of the others have bothered my hair! GL!
If you are going to color your hair at home I would recommend using an ammonia free color. It is so much better for you and your hair. Stay away from metallic dyes (I think feria is one of them) because if you want to lighten your hair while the metallic dye is still in your hair, it will have a reaction and turn out way darker than you wanted.
I used to color my hair at home all the time. Like PP said, do not use Feria.(My salon will not color hair if it has been touched by Feria) I recommend using a semi permanent color if this is your first time DIY coloring. I prefer Loreal brands- Excellence Creme is an easy one since it won't drip. good luck!
I do. I use the cheapest bottle I can find. I'm cheap in general. WalMart has a brand that's $2.50. Horrible, I know. It's totally against my life philosophy but I love my hair dye!
It's always worked well for me and really doesn't fry my hair too bad. Just make sure you get regular hair cuts. You'll be fine.
