I am 34 (just turned) and just had my first baby. I would like another one, but am not ready and I don't think I will be for a few years at least. But, I'm nervous about having another one after age 35.
I always said I wanted to be finished having kids by the time I was 30. I'm 25 and just had my first one. I would like at least 2 more, and I really don't think I will have them both in the next 5 years. I will probably be closer to 32 or 33 by the time we're finished having kids.
These polls always amuse me....they make me feel like an old lady. I had #1 at 36, #2 at 38, and we're not completely ruling out a third, but that won't be until I'm over 40.
I'm turning 35 next month and want 1-2 more. I'm going to try to have them close in age and would like to be totally done (being pregnant and breastfeeding) by 40.

glad i'm not the only "old lady" here...i had #1 at 35 three months ago.
I would love to have 4 kids but the cost is too much for us all together. We are going to ttc in 18mo to 2.5 yrs for #2. I can see us "thinking" were done at that point but we might start to want another one or two 5-7yrs later. It would depend on how Im feeling and how independent my kids are ect & how my next pregnancy goes. With this pregnancy I had renal-colic and it would be really hard on my family if they had to deal with me being in the hospital or on bedrest ect again. I think if the next pregnancy goes well, Id have another one or two latest at 30-33. Im 22 right now so I have no idea what life will be like or how we would feel with the age differences but thats the latest...

I had number 1 at 33 and would like 3 so I will say my last by 40 but maybe we can make them sooner then that. I am ready for #2 now but OB/GYN says we have to wait one year. My concern is only the cost of 2-3 in daycare. Not sure how we could finance all that. We'll figure it out when the time comes.
Just had my first at 39 and am planning on getting pregnant later this year so I'll probably be 40 when I deliver (fingers crossed). I wouldn't go past 42, I think you're really taking a chance w/ birth defects past that age.
Me: 44 DH: 42.

I'm 31 and DD is our first, we're planning on having another one probably when I'm 33. I don't think I would have any over 35, but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't be opposed to getting pregnant after that, I'm just hoping to be done by then.

Wait the few years. Being over 35 doesn't automatically mean there will be a problem. I had my first baby last August at age 39. I'll be 40 in April.
While I'm only having one (not due to my age but other factors) I would have a 2nd in a year or so if the other factors were not an issue.

I just turned 34, too and had my first baby. We agree we'll have one more and we'll probably start trying next fall. I don't want to wait too long and that would have me giving birth when I'm still 35.
I'm 24 and had baby #1 just a few weeks after my birthday. We want 3 close together so I'll be done by 30, I hope. My mom had me at 25 and my youngest sibling at 42 with 3 in between... but she's a mommy rockstar!
For me, 35. I just had my first at 28 and would like to be done when I'm 35. Also, my mom was 34 when she had me and 40 when she had my sister. For me, I like the age she was when I graduated from college for when I'd like to be done paying tuition. Then I have plenty of time left to play. She's still got one in grad school at 65.
But that's personal experience. My mom's certainly not old and always laughs and says she felt younger than she was since her kids were young and our friends' parents were 10 years younger than her. And she seriously looks younger than my 55 year old mother in law.
We planned on being done around 30 (I'm 26 now), but that was when we were thinking only 2 kids. If we went for #3, I'd want to have all of them under the age of 33.
It has very little to do with my actual age, but more to do with a) when I started having kids & b) how far apart I want those kids. I started early & I want them close together, which means I'll finish early.
Well, I plan on having another one around my 34rd birthday (I'm 32 right now). And I would like 3 babies, so give me 2 more years so I plan on having my last one at 36. If that doesn't work out I would have one at 37 the latest.
