Postpartum Depression

Bfing moms

Those of you on Zoloft, do you notice a chang in lo's poopy diapers?

A seems to have less and less poopy diapers as time passes. He hasn't gone in 2 days. Could this be the meds, or just a phase?

Re: Bfing moms

  • I have not noticed a change in Alannah's poop that I could link to the Zoloft.  As time passes, she naturally started only having 1 poop diaper a day (rather than every diaper) even before I started taking Zoloft, and I have been breastfeeding.  At this point, while I am on the Zoloft, she will sometimes go a few days in between pooping, but yesterday went twice.  I think her system is just trying to work out some kinks since we also recently started her on cereal.  Is your LO uncomfortable, as if constipated?  Or just not pooping as often?  Some babies just don't go everyday, even when EBF.  If you are still concerned, though, talk to your pedi.  Good luck to you!

  • I don't think this has anything to do with your meds... it is perfectly normal for a breastfed baby to go for several days without pooping at this age... it gets to the point when you feel you have a ticking time bomb with you and will worry when it's gonna blow!  ...just be sure you have a full change of clothes (including socks!) for baby and maybe a clean shirt for you too! lol!

    I agree with this.
