I am just pure hateful here lately...

So today MIL and FIL came over for a visit, they live 5 houses down mind you, because they wanted to see the baby's room. For some odd reason whenever MIL mentions our baby, it really annoys me. Shes always saying that the baby is hers and that its her little Jeff (DHs name is Jeff), but heres the kicker...today she informed that DHs niece keeps calling the baby her little brother, which sickens me. I corrected her, which should have been MILs job, then I was made to feel stupid because MIL says yes that is your little brother. UGH! Then I am told that his niece will be spending lots of time with the baby, which I will never let happen. I hate that people are making plans for my child without even consulting me, as little as the plans are.

Please forgive me, but for some reason I go 9 months without so much as one crazy hormonal outburst and then this week I have 50! Its insane!

    Sounds like you're due for a few outbursts. Just let it out. That's what we're here for!

    You are entitled to outburst at that!! I would have!! You decide who your baby is around and if they can't respect that then I wouldn't allow them in my home but that's just my opinion

    I feel ya'...The world in general is just making me mad. Or cry. Or a little bit of both. And to think, postpartum is supposed to be worse. Just something to look forward to, I guess...

    Both my mom and MIL say "my baby". I usually correct them nicely with a "no, your grandbaby". They always look at me and then correct themselves. I'm hoping if I say it enough they will finally clue it in.

    As for the niece, she should grow up knowing the difference and that is wrong of MIL. You should have DH have a sit down talk with them. It really sucks they are putting your little niece in the middle of something like that. Try not to blame your niece she is merely mocking the adults.

    i know the feeling! i have been great with everything until about 2 weeks ago....now iim acting like a mental patient. i cry if something isnt going just right or how i planned. i even started screaming at dh when i hardly ever get mad. but if mil told me it was her baby i would ask her if shes carried it around for 9 months!

    I HATE when people do that to me!! its me and my FI's baby no one elses! we made it not them! i mean if its their baby then they must have been there when she was conceived. i had to ask my mom the other day where you there when she was made? she looked at me like WTF?!?! i said thats the only way she is your baby, she has yet to say it again. lol
