Is lube necessary?

This is my first cycle with meds and so far Femara has dried up any CM I had. I've never had a problem with CM until now. I'll be taking my Ovidrel tomorrow morning and BD'ing tomorrow night - Friday night and I'm wondering if a lube will help get the swimmers there. Any suggestions?

Re: Is lube necessary?

  • Most lube is not sperm friendly.  Even Pre Seed kills some of the sperm in the process, just not as much as regular lube.

I'd skip lube if you can.

  • I had this same CM issue when I was on Clomid and was told that lubricants can really affect sperm motility...and not in a good way.  There are some approved ones, can't remember them off the top of my head, but check with your RE/OB first just to be on the safe side.

  • You can try egg whites... nasty yes but it is safer than Lube.  Next cycle I would order the pre-seed.  It worked well for us.
