I am new to the IF board but I just understood it as a sort of sisterhood in IF symbol that this board adopted. Why is it anyone's concern anyway. Sounds like they are just starting drama..

Seriously- why all the penguin hatred. and what are we in 2nd grade- 'I call dibs on having a board mascot- so nobody else can'

who cares what people have in their siggy. it's kinda ridiculous since we are all trying to get pregnant. And guess what, sometimes people on GP end up on IF. so why all the competition/one upness is needed is beyond me.

I also like it b/c it's nice to be able to spot other IFers on other boards as well as the sisterhood/common struggle thing. It's not like we used pandas!

yeah, I'm just not one to back down on stupidity/childishness, though. It annoys me that panda girls have to get involved everytime somebody asks about penguins. But, I've got work to do, so I'll have to let it roll for a little bit til I can get back.

Yea, there was a very similar discussion that I got in on a couple weeks ago about the exact same thing. I am just going to stay out of it this time. Although I do love the one reply regarding panda parenting from the girl who was trashing penguins and their parenting skills, she said they picked pandas because they have a hard time getting PG and why would she think about the baby before she even gets PG.

I wasn't sure, but I figured it had something to do with March of Penguins and the more I thought about it the more I realized that is EXACTLY what we are going through. Going through hell and high water to get a baby into this world and I completely related! I think it's hard for anyone not going through this to understand what's going on. It's why I'm pretty much not going to post on my local baby board anymore.

Aaaaaaaaaaand this is why this board rocks.

I agree with you, it is annoying! I was going to post over there- but can't think of anything that hasn't already been said. at this point it's such a clusterfvck I can't even navigate that post.

This, totally. And she also blew it out of proportion that I said Penguins were "lucky" like we created a lucky charm. I LOVE the penguins, have always loved penguins, was so excited when it was chosen for the board mascot, and I'm keeping mine. LOL.

My penguin isn't going anywhere, I like my little guy. Snarky should get props for inspiring our little mascot and as for IFer's, there's no need to get worked up if someone negatively comments on the penguins It's a siggy pic on an internet chat board for god's sake. They are from the old TTC 6 months +, then it was 12 months +, and now it is Snarky and TTTC. They all have had their own journeys trying to conceive, too.

It seems silly to me to argue over such petty crap. But then again... I did read all 4 freaking pages of it.

I commend CC for reading all 4 pages..I don't have the attention span for it. I'm keeping my penguins. I like them. My grandma loves and collects them and she had 3 sons (which includes a set of identical twins..one of which is my dad!) That's luck enough for me!
