Psychics, Tarot card readers, etc.

I had a reading on Saturday with my mom, and it was truly unlike any other I've had. She asked me to cut the cards and to make a wish. She then asked me to pick 12 cards and as she read them, she looked at me and said, "You got your wish. Did it have something to do with having a baby?"

Yeah, I burst into tears . . . so much for my pokerface. And I know that it is a commonality among young women to want a baby, but I didn't have to say anything. She not only made reference to my wish, yes, that was it, but went on to tell me other things about me without coaxing clues out of me. It was very weird/surreal/chilling all at the same time.

Do anyone else believe in them? I was a skeptic, but maybe not anymore.

I think it has a lot to do with reading body language, oh yeah, and coincidence. But what do I know? I am just a major skeptic in all things "spiritual".

I do believe that some people have a 6th sense, but I feel that most "psychics" are just good at reading people.

My MIL is seeing one right now that is taking her for LOTS of money. $75 for 30 minutes, and she's just basically telling her what she wants to hear.

I'll definitely admit that I've pondered going to one since we started TTC.

I definitely think they're fun for their entertainment value, but wouldn't put my stock in it. These people are trained to read signals from you, and you'd be surprised what one could ascertain just by looking at your clothing/accessory selection. That being said, I have a source that does a yearly free tarot reading for me, just a yearly overview and only does it for fun, I only ask for them for fun...she's been dead-on last year and is remarkably dead on this year. This lady does not know me IRL and would have no way to make her predictions or do her readings, because she knows nothing about me.

I'm a skeptic. I do believe in God and in the power of prayer, but not so much in psychics.. I feel like they're all out to make a buck.

I have gone to them for fun and entertainment in the past. I don't base my life choices on the results, but I enjoy hearing what they have to say. I've been to some that are full of crap and have no clue about me or what they are talking about. But I have been to some that were amazingly dead on with facts and such that I did not tell them.

I have a lot of friends who read cards. I also read cards. It isn't so much as reading body language as to read what the cards say. If the person feels it is valid to there life then they can take it and use it.

I agree that there are some psychics that do tend to rip people off. Though I have a friend that only takes donations. She is a psychic. She walks people's houses and blesses them. She has done some readings for me and has been spot on. She is a pretty awesome person.

So yes I do believe in stuff like that.

This is how I feel. I believe there's good ones out there but there's also ones out for the money. If it made you feel good/better, then IMO there's no harm!
