Babies: 3 - 6 Months

HELP-sleep book rec

My LO is 4.5 and noth the best sleeper at night. She will wake up to eat and not go back to sleep for an hour or more. She also will wake up at 4AM and be ready to start her day.We know she is not getting enough sleep for someone her age.She gets maybe 8 -9 hours of sleep at night.

So we are looking for a good sleep book-I know that every baby is different and that we may have to try a few different options.

Any advice is welcome before we all lose our minds.

TIA

  • when did you start using that book?
  • I have read MANY.  I like, Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems by Richard Ferber best.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I just ordered Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child.  I've seen it recommended on here a bunch of times...

We started at about 10 weeks, but you can start at any time I think. He doesn't sleep 12 hours either, but he's close. Naps are still a mess.

  • I also like Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. I don't follow it to the T but I have a much better idea of what's going on with my dd (as opposed to guessing "could she be hungry/tired/overtired", etc)
  • I have "the no-cry sleep solution".  It seems to be helping.
