would you or did you purchase a carseat from craigslist.com?

in Babies: 3 - 6 Months

we received LO's from the registry but i'm just wondering if people do purchased used carseat from craigslist? how do you know the carseat is in good condition other than words from previous owner?

    The carseat is the one item that I refused to buy used.  Everything else, sure, but not that.

    I never would for the reason you said.  You don't know it hasn't been in an accident, if it was stored properly, etc.

    Never buy, borrow or use a carseat that you don't know for certain the history of.

    Ditto PPs. I would never buy items where safety is an issue, like carseats, cribs, etc.

    I know you aren't suppossed to buy used but I did. The lady I bought from was told she was having a boy and bought a boyish pattern. She found out in the delivery room that she had a girl. She said the carset was only used for a few days until she went out to get a girl one. It was in perfect condition and I trusted her.
