I understand that those that are calling, emailing or texting genuinely care-- but I am at my wit's end... I don't know when the baby is coming! I really don't! And I promise you are on the list to be contacted when they do!
How do I politely handle this? My response until now has been to not answer-- I do not want to snap at someone and tell them they will find out soon enough! But then I end up listening to a message telling me-- You must be in labor now! How exciting! And I get upset again.
Texts and emails I have just given a short reply that there is no progress. How out of line am I? I really don't normally act so rude but I am tired and overwhelmed-- I also would love to know when the baby is coming...
Thanks for being supportive. My husband has been great-- offering to pick up my cell so I don't have to.
Re: Well intentioned emails, texts, phone calls inquiring where baby is
I honestly think it's a great way to get the message across and say "STOP ASKING!" without being nasty about it. Especially if you deliver it with a humorous e-mail.
Good luck!
Frickin genius
Love that website. My family is also driving me crazy & I've just been screening calls. I will only talk to my sister & my bff. Everyone else goes straight to voicemail.
Since I don't think my family would respond well to the website, I think I'll just keep screening. I know they mean well, but calling daily to "see how I'm feeling" is annoying. How do you think I'm feeling?!

BAHAHAHAHA you made my day
Totally going to set that as my facebook status once people start bugging me!
This has been my facebook and gmail status for about a week now. If only I could figure out a way for my MIL to get it every time she calls! She's called twice today (I was...er...vacuuming...and um...out for a walk when she called...yeah...), but has yet to leave a message...I hope she's sweating it.
I like the idea of changing your outgoing voicemail.
Also, this is reminding me that I need to be a step ahead and tell everyone in advance that I will let them know when I have it, and not to call before then. What a great reminder for the rest of us that aren't so far along so we don't have to go through the same.
