Where do you put your laptop while using it?

I have a new laptop thanks to DH (Christmas) and I have it at our dining table (which is in our LR). I'm sitting in an uncomfy dining room chair facing the TV. Not paying a bit of attention to the TV, though.

I don't think I've ever tried it on my lap. Do you put yours on your lap? On an ottoman? Your bed? Where do you put it when you are using it the most?

I lay down or lounge and put it on my lap! Get comfy!!! That's the point of it!

on my lap, if I'm on the couch or a recliner or on a TV tray if I'm in bed using it. Or on our desk if I'm actually trying to do some work.

I have it on my lap and just balance it However, I do have one wrist that bothers me some if I type a lot, so I'll head to the kitchen table if it gets too bad, so I have a better ergonomic structure.

During the day it sits on the kitchen counter - I randomly check email, pay bills and stuff when I get a minute here and there...

After the kids go to bed I sit on the couch with it on my lap to respond to emails, fiddle around here, look for houses, etc.

It's stored in a basket under the coffee table at night or when I'm not using it at all (busy days I don't even bother to get it out)/

On my lap. Now that I'm pg, I try to remember to put a pillow underneath but sometimes I forget-- it doesn't get that hot but I'm a little paranoid.

Most of the time I'm on the computer while sitting on my bed. I sit with my legs criss-crossed and sit a pillow in front of my feet....the lap top sits on the pillow. This is how I'm sitting right now!

okay, since posting this i have moved it to the ottoman so i can sit in a comfy chair and not have to hold it on my lap - but i can if i want! what about when you have to charge it...just plug it in nearby and keep it on your lap?

on my unused DR table or in my lap, on a thick pillow that I pretend protects me from harmful rays.

Lap or i have a little desk thing that I used while on bedrest. It is wooden and plush one side and I put that laptop on that - so it doesn't get too hot on me.

I was lurking and saw this. I use my laptop in bed and I have an awesome lap top desk thingy that has a bean bag on the bottom and is hard on the top. Its big enough for me to use a mouse with it also. My DH got it for me for Christmas from Bed Bath and Beyond!

One reason I still use the boppy while nursing is that Elizabeth can latch herself without me holding her and I can balance the laptop part of my lap and part on the boppy!

I'm sitting on my couch right now while on my laptop! So comfy :-) I do put my computer on my lap, but I always make sure a pillow is between my lap and the computer. Not sure why, but I somehow got this idea in my head that a laptop on my lap is bad for me, like it poisonous gamma rays or something Wink

mine is on my lap as i type right now. occassionally, i am sitting kind of sideways w/my legs tucked under me and it balances on the arm of the sectional or sofa.

Be careful putting a laptop on anything plush (I see that there are many pillow users). This can cause it to overheat. Air should be able to pass all around it as if it were on a hard surface with no obstructions. (This is virtually impossible to do with a pillow.)

I always use my laptop on my lap with a large (not thick) book under it, but I've been meaning to get a laptop tray (like the beanbag thing a pp mentioned) for a long time...

Almost always on the lap, either in bed or on a couch. Only ever on a table if I'm doing work and need to spread out papers and stuff.

yep. i just plug it in nearby. i just sit on the couch and have it in my lap while i watch tv. now if i am nursing and trying to use it, i have it on a little stand next to the rocker....
