Fussing at the breast

DD has recently started fussing at the breast.  I am dairy free and she is in reflux meds.  My supply is fine, there is always milk.  She fusses in the begining and I have to switch sides a few times before she'll finally settle down and eat.  Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Lo did this for a period, it was so weird.  I am pretty positive it was gas.  he had horrible gas when he was young.  He doesnt do it anymore.

    He'd suck for a few seconds then pull off....over and over and over!

    But maybe the teething also.

    there was no rhyme or reason why ds would do it. he was just fussy so i'd take him off for a few minutes, let him get distracted with something else and then try again, it always worked.

    That is exactly the same issue I have had recently!  It is not every time he nurses but I can't really figure out a reason.  I just give it a break for 5-10 minutes and try again.  Most times that works.  Sometimes I can tell when it is gas but other times when he sucks a few times and pulls off, he just looks up and smiles and me.  It is almost like he is doing it to be funny!  Anyone else experience that?

    My DS is doing this too.  Some of the time he is flirting with me (smiling up at me), sometimes he's just fussing, sometimes it's gas, sometimes he's distracted by the dog, the TV, his daddy.... whatever.  I've just been switching breasts, moving rooms, trying again later, burping him... whatever works at the time.  But it is frustrating!
