SO MY LITTLE MAN IS HERE !!!! Were are so thrilled! Brady Michael was born January 12, 2010 at 743 pm weighing 5lbs 8oz and 19.5 inches long. He was born at 37w3d. Here is my story...
Was on bedrest for one week due to PIH with a question of Pre-E. So i went last monday to my weekly apt and my bp was 140/100. The doctor came in and said to me and DH, "what are we going to do with you?" (this was after 2 visits to L&D to be on the monitor for 4 hours each. and i responded with i don't know??? and the doctor said Were going to induce you tonight! DH and i looked at each other like WHAT?? So we went from the office home to bring our dog to my parents house, had some dinner, and went to the hopsital. They started my induction last monday by giving me vaginal misoprostol to soften and help prepare my cervix. This caused me to have mild contractions, but i was able to sleep all night. Tuesday Morning at 10 am they started the pitocin. I was 1.5 cm dilated and 75% effaced. I was able to breath through the contractions until about 2 cm then it was starting to get a bit much to bear. At this point i got a shot of Nubain and it was like heaven on earth! i slept for about 3 hours and then they started to get even worse!!!! At this point i was 4 cm and 100% effaced so i wanted to try and wait a little longer to get the epidural so i got another shot of Nubain, with little to no relief from the second shot and my contraction 30 seconds apart, i couldnt breath through them i couldnt talk i couldnt anything all i could say was epidural! So that was next, the epidural was painless and in 5 mins i was totally comfortable again. From this point on in 45 mins i went from 4 cm to 10 cm and then it was time to push! My little man's heartrate was dropping with each contraction becasue they were so close together he didnt have a chance to recover. As a result, the had to use the vaccuum to help the labor along, but only needed to used minimal suction since i was pushing like a mad woman! It was the hardest thing that i have ever had to do, and i have to say it still hurt when his head came out, epidural or not!!! DH said i yelped like a dog! DH was wonderful and has been so amazing since i had him, i had my mom and mil in the delivery room and everything was perfect. So my whole labor was about 9 hours and now we have our beautiful little guy. He is sleeping about 6 hours a night and is breastfeeding so well he could teach the class! Right after he was born he went right on my chest and 15 mins after birth he was breastfeeding. When i was transfered to the PP unit he nursed for 80 mins! He is just so beautiful and were so blessed i could cry writing this! here are some pics and i will see you all on 0-3 mos!!! Good Luck!
